Sustainable Ecommerce
At Bloomreach, we’re dedicated to making ecommerce more sustainable. Our commitment encompasses our own sustainability pledge and extends to empowering our customers in their sustainability journeys. We aim to lead by example, offering thought leadership on sustainable practices and developing innovative products that promote sustainability. By sharing best practices and collaborating with our customers and the broader ecosystem, we work to establish new sustainability standards in e-commerce and address the challenges of fast fashion. Our Information Security and Privacy mission is to safeguard the confidentiality, privacy, integrity, and availability of all data at Bloomreach. We are committed to enabling Bloomreach’s growth by providing strategic data-driven insights while upholding the highest standards of security, compliance, and risk management to protect our company’s assets, data, and reputation. We foster a strong security culture, providing Security and Privacy Awareness Training for all internal stakeholders. Environmental
Carbon Footprint
In 2024, we produced 4,441.36 t CO2e (5.1 t CO2e/employee). 97% of our carbon footprint comes from indirect emissions (mainly cloud servers & business travel). Our carbon footprint was calculated in line with GHG Protocol (Scope 1-3).
Carbon Offsetting
We are offsetting our business travel emissions by partnering with TravelPerk (our travel management system) through investing in VERA-certified offsetting projects.
Workplace Sustainability
Our workplace sustainability efforts emphasize employee education, operations mainly in buildings with green certifications, donating eliminated but functional laptops to charities/schools, and sourcing our employee merchandise items from eco-friendly materials.
Social
Employee Engagement
We believe that a truly engaged workforce is the cornerstone of innovation and excellence. We nurture transparent and open communication through regular company All Hands meetings, Q&A sessions with leadership, and company-wide barometer surveys, which has earned us recognition in Comparably (top 5 mid-sized employers), and Glassdoor (engaged employer).
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Our workforce reflects our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion—bringing together people of different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We provide culture map training to minimize communication differences among our diverse employee group (50+ nationalities) and ensure equity through a pay-for-performance philosophy. In 2024, our median gender gap in salary band placement remains under 1%.
Societal Involvement
Bloomreach offers employees 5 paid volunteer days each year, promoting active community involvement. In 2024, Bloomreachers devoted 267 days to good causes, through both individual or group volunteering activities. To further our commitment and inspire other businesses, we officially joined the 1% Pledge, dedicating one percent of company time to volunteering and community service.
Governance
Data Security & Privacy
We acquired certification under the Data Protection Framework (DPF), ensuring the secure transfer of personal data from the European Union and the United Kingdom to the United States, and our second SOC 2 Type II Certification, ensuring compliance with critical international standards.
Business Ethics & Integrity
At Bloomreach, AI isn’t just powerful—it’s principled. In 2024, our Chief Technology Officer described Bloomreach’s AI development principles, and our Chief Executive Officer emphasized democratizing AI, making it accessible to all stakeholders, and fostering collective innovation. Additionally, we talked about ethical and responsible AI implementation at our 2024 Edge Summit.
Cyber Security
In 2024, cyber attacks surged, underscoring the need for robust cybersecurity. At Bloomreach, we responded with an automated asset management tool, comprehensive Threat Intelligence Reports, and cybersecurity awareness initiatives such as “Scam of the Week” and “Wednesday Security Watch” to educate and protect our team and stakeholders.
Sustainable Commerce
Sustainability in Retail: Strategies for a Greener Future
In 2024, Bloomreach has joined forces with OneStock and other partners to offer actionable insights to reduce waste, optimize operations, and meet the increasing demand for sustainable practices in retail. Bloomreach’s unique contribution lies in shaping consumer behavior through data and personalization.
